Lynne Weninegar is a local botanist who has been transitioning her landscape from non-native (often invasive) horticultural plants into an urban natural woodland setting with regionally-appropriate native plants. Her rocky limestone landscape feeds over 53 bird species throughout the year and features many plants that commonly occur in cedar glade/barren/woodland ecosystems with circumneutral soils. Lynne is a lifelong scientist whose landscape is an ongoing experiment to observe how plants and wildlife interact in a backyard that provides her with tranquility and year-round delight.
